Junior Club Training
Information for 2009/2010 Season
Dear Player, Parent/Carer
The Netball Season is nearly upon us. On behalf of Brighton Netball Club I would like to thank you for being so prompt in sending in the registration details for the 2009-10 Netball Season.
•We will start training again on Saturday 5th September from 9.30am – 10.45am . Training will take place on the Kingsway Courts which are on hove Seafront near the lagoon. Training only takes place during school term times.
•Training costs will be £1 per session and this will contribute towards the hire of the courts. If your child can’t attend a training session please email or text me asap. If training is going to be cancelled due to weather conditions details will be on the club website. Please check the website weekly for all up to date information re training, matches, kit etc.
•Arrangements should be made for your child to travel to and from training sessions and any matches we play. We appreciate it if children can arrive and are collected promptly. If you are going to be late picking your child up, please contact the coach on her mobile number and let her know.
•Suitable clothing needs to be worn to training, including sensible footwear, sports clothes, no jewellery, hair tied back and short nails. It is advisable to bring water and warm clothing to training.
•Club colours are navy blue and pink trim. Should you wish to purchase any kit (it isn’t compulsory) please see the website for details.
•We will be splitting the girls into 4 training squads each squad will be made up of 12 – 13 girls and will be age related. We have entered teams in the Sussex Junior Netball league matches will be in on Saturdays from September – December. After Christmas we will play friendlies, cup competitions and may enter some tournaments.
•Year 9 girls are also invited to our adult training session on Thursday evenings from September – details available after October ½ term.
I would like to remind you that we aim for all members to enjoy the sessions, develop their own skills & understanding of the game and show respect of each other’s ability and potential. We operate an inclusive approach rather than win at all costs and we ask girls and all supporters to respect this. The club is run entirely by volunteers who have between them attended coaching, umpiring, safeguarding and first aid courses.
Yours sincerely,
Anna Brookes
(Junior club coordinator)
