The Netball Season is nearly upon us. On behalf of Brighton NC I would like to thank you for being so prompt in sending in the registration details for the 2011-12 Netball Season.
• Training will take place on Thursday evenings 6-7.30pm . The first session will be on Thursday September 8th. Training will take place at Dorothy Stringer Sports Hall. Training only takes place during school term times – not at half terms.
• Training costs will be £2 per session and this will contribute towards the hire of the hall, league and umpiring costs.
• If your child can’t attend a training session please email or text me asap. If your child misses 3 consecutive training sessions without notification they will be withdrawn from the club. If training is going to be cancelled details will be on the club website. Please check the website weekly for all up to date information re training, matches, kit etc. However due to school events we sometimes have to cancel training.
• Arrangements should be made for your child to travel to and from training sessions and any matches we play. We appreciate it if children can arrive and are collected promptly. If you are going to be late picking your child up, please contact the coach on her mobile number and let her know.
• Suitable clothing needs to be worn to training, including sensible footwear, sports clothes, no jewellery, hair tied back and short nails. It is advisable to bring water.
• Club colours are navy blue and pink trim. Should you wish to purchase any kit (it isn’t compulsory) please see the website for details.
• We will be splitting the girls into 4 training squads each squad will be made up of 10 girls and will be age related. We will be entering teams in the local leagues and also have friendly games, all matches will be on Saturday mornings. Parents/carers are responsible for transporting girls to and from matches.
• Parents/carers must return the signed code of conduct by the first training session.
• Girls who are in year 10 maybe invited to join our senior section during the year.
I would like to remind you that we aim for all members to enjoy the sessions, develop their own skills & understanding of the game and show respect of each other’s ability and potential. We operate an inclusive approach rather than win at all costs and we ask girls and all supporters to respect this. We do not offer regional netball but through our talent id systems we do refer girls for trials and are able to recommend appropriate routes. The club is run entirely by volunteers who have between them attended coaching, umpiring, safeguarding, equity in coaching and first aid courses.
